How Rapid Geology met Bergen municipality
Bergen Vann and Rapid Geology's Sustainable Construction Solutions
Bergen Vann, part of Bergen Municipality's water department, sought to tackle the circular management of excess construction materials, which were often transported out of the municipality instead of being reused locally. Through the StartupLab 2030 program, they connected with Rapid Geology, a company offering a 3D-based drawing tool initially designed for the oil sector. Adapting Rapid Geology’s tool for trench work could optimize construction projects by improving planning and focusing on local mass reuse, reducing transportation needs. Formalizing their partnership with a letter of intent, Bergen Vann and Rapid Geology collaborated for six months to refine the technology for effective local mass reuse and create an initial proof of concept. With support from the Climate agency in Bergen Municipality, which pledged up to NOK 100,000 in project funding, the collaboration marked a significant step toward sustainable and efficient mass management in construction projects.
